I photograph clients from Golden Gate Estates in my private Naples studio, a drive west along Golden Gate Boulevard and Pine Ridge Road that is worth planning for. The Drive West

Heading west for more than one photo.

Golden Gate Estates stretches wide enough that no drive to the studio is truly short, and however far east you live, a portrait session still means heading west on Golden Gate Boulevard or Pine Ridge Road. I will not pretend otherwise. What I can promise is that the drive buys you something a quick, local option usually cannot: a private studio, a calm pace and a photographer who guides every single pose, so the time you spend in the car is matched by what you leave with.

That is why I encourage clients driving in from the Estates to think of the session as one stop that covers more than one need, rather than a single quick photo. A headshot and a personal brand set, planned together and shot in the same sitting, turn one trip into two finished projects. Once you are in the studio, I call every pose and every expression, first frame to last, so the trip in is the hardest part of the whole session, not the photography itself.

From most of Golden Gate Estates, the studio is a straightforward run in along Golden Gate Boulevard, Pine Ridge Road or Collier Boulevard, depending on where you start. The drive is about 15 to 30 minutes depending on how far east you live, and the route itself is simple.

None of that changes what happens once you arrive. The studio is private, calm and unhurried, built around one session at a time. Clients drive in from all over to the same Naples studio, and the Estates is simply one more starting point on the map, which is exactly why the drive is worth treating as part of the plan rather than an inconvenience to work around.

The drive is rarely the hard part. The camera is, and that is completely normal. It is the entire reason guided posing exists. I direct your chin, your shoulders, your weight and your expression the whole way through, frame by frame, so you never have to invent a pose on your own.

A phone photo cannot do any of that. There is nobody behind it watching your expression, moving the light or telling you when you have it. That difference is most of what the drive is paying for.

If I am driving in anyway, can one visit cover more than a headshot?
That is exactly how I would plan it. A polished look for your profile and a more relaxed set for social or personal use fit naturally into one sitting, with backgrounds and wardrobe changes decided on the call. A full personal brand library is a bigger plan, and if that is what you are after, say so when you call and I will tell you honestly what fits into one visit and what deserves its own.
Is there anything to drive back for after the session?
No. Your images are retouched by hand and delivered within the week in a private, password-protected online gallery, ready to download and share from home. If you want something on the wall, custom albums, fine prints and gallery canvases are available, and I am glad to talk through them once you have seen the gallery, without another trip west.
Can hair and makeup be part of the plan?
Yes. I work with several professional stylists who can be arranged for hair and makeup before the shoot, for an added fee. Ask when you call so it is arranged ahead of the day rather than decided once you have already made the drive, and we plan your looks around it.
Do you ever travel out to Golden Gate Estates instead?
No. Every session happens in my private Naples studio, and that is deliberate. The light there is one I know completely, there is no audience, and the pace stays calm, which is a large part of what you are driving in for. It is the same studio for every client, whichever town the drive starts in.
What should I plan for once I arrive, since I already made the drive?
Bring the wardrobe options we settled on the call and expect a calm, unhurried pace once you are in the studio. Because the trip is longer than it is for some clients, more than one look is planned into the sitting whenever it makes sense, so you leave with more to show for the drive.
